There are two area beaches that I know of that are transformed into a festival of drum beats once a week at sunset.  On this special night there may anywhere from 5 - 20 drummers out on the beach at sunset.  They form a circle facing each other with their drums set up.

Near sunset the drummers begin to drum. They drum a rhythm that while, not seeming loud up close, fills the air around you for a good quarter mile in every direction.   They drum like this, with drummers coming and going, drums of every size shape and sound imaginable moving in and out of the rhythm.

Want to visit?  Well if your not a local you should stay home.  Tourists and snowbirds won't be chased away but if they bring an instrument and try to play they will be asked not to.  As a matter of fact during tourist season the drum circle may move from beach to beach,.  The sunset drum circles may even go on hiatus for a while if the crowds get to thick.

The current locations of the sunset drum circles on the beaches won't be told here nor will the night.  Here's a little preview of what you've been missing.
