Fort Desoto Park is located at the very southern tip of the Pinellas Peninsula in St. Petersburg Florida. It used to be a well kept secret until "DR. Beach" named it America's #1 beach. Nowadays it's getting a bit crowded. And it's still summer! Anyway it is a wonderful park that includes more than just a really nice beach. Here's a satellite photo of Fort Desoto Park in it's entirety.It has several beaches. campgrounds, two fishing piers (they provide some of the best fishing in St. Petersburg) a gift shop, picnic shelters and of course, Fort Desoto.

These photos in this photo album are large enough to make excellent free desktop wallpapers. On this web site I can't place a desktop wallpaper for every size computer screen. The Bay Side Pier at Ft. Park. It’s the shorter of the two. It’s also the one with the bait shop.

The Gulf Side Pier at Ft. Desoto Park. It’s longer, closer to the Gulf of Mexico, actually it’s kinda hard to tell where the Gulfof Mexico ends ad Tampa Bay Begins . . . No Bait store at this pier but the other pier is very close by.
