Lake Seminole Park had the potential to become a wonderful urban park. It is located in a fairly convenient location just northwest of St. Petersburg in (you guessed it) Lake Seminole, on Lake Seminole. A large park with a nice trail, a boat ramp and lots of shelters. The problem is some kinda weird freaky control freak was some how put in some sort of position of power over the park and started posting signs and making weird rules. Whomever this control freak is the must be related to George W. Bush or Dick Cheney because they don't have much basis in reality.
For example, notice on the sign below the highlighted points. Did you know that squirrels in this park are magic (and dangerous!), because they are the only squirrels in the world that can't catch rabies? And that final point, the threat . . . Are Pinellas county park employees going to go around snuffing out squirrels or people in the park? Don't get me wrong, I don't think you should feed the squirrels, but this is ridiculous.
They also have a speed limit on the trail. Don't walk, run, skate or bicycle faster than 10 miles an hour or they'll do baaaad things to you. And they mean it too! I'm not kidding, they've got signs ordering you around everywhere, the trail is one way, they want you to only enter at the entrance, it just goes on and on, it's totally ridiculous!
