Free Screen Savers

Screen savers really aren't needed for today's computers. Back in the day a monitors were of such poor quality that if you left it sit idle with the same image on it for too long, that image would become "burned in" and a shadowy version of that image would permannently show on the screen. The clever solution was

a program that turned on different pixels on the monitor with different colors for different amounts of time.

Sometimes it was justa block of color bouncing around the screen like a "pong" ball that escaped it's archaic game. As time progressed the screensavers got better and better until we are at the point we are at today.

Today's screen savers can have flash movies in them, regular movies, photo motages, heck today's screensavers can include just about anything!
